![]() In “Zarkon Becomes a Robeast”, Zarkon attacks Planet Arus in order to destroy the super cannon so the Galaxy Alliance can’t use it against him. Keith trusts Lance enough to support his judgement in the heat of combat. Lance: “It’s so bizarre it just might be fun! I say let’s go for it.” ![]() Keith: “Well, I guess stranger things have happened. During the exchange, Keith turns to Lance and asks him what he thinks they should do. In “The Alliance Strikes Back” Queen Merla approaches the Voltron Force for help rescuing Lotor. For one, Keith sometimes specifically asks for Lance’s opinion when making decisions. Most old school fans would tell you Lance is Keith’s second in command. Another factor is it’s implied the two have been working together for some time, and therefore know each pretty well at the start of the series, unlike their modern counterparts at the beginning of VLD. One has to do with DoTU Keith’s and Lance’s personalities Keith was originally much more level headed while Lance was confident about both his abilities and spot on the team. There’s a few reasons for this difference. Rather, the two are quite close and comfortable with each other throughout the series, even if they butt heads at times. Keith and Lance’s relationship in DoTU isn’t defined by bickering and a one-sided rivalry slowly developing into mutual respect like in VLD. ![]() ![]() What was it like and how does it differ from that of their VLD counterparts?
